Lots of reasons to celebrate this month with Canada Day on July 1 – happy birthday Canada! – and a happy 4th of July to our friends and family living in the US. Also, birthday and anniversary greetings to our many friends celebrating these milestones.

Welcome to Weekend at the Cottage – you’re now part of a growing community that loves delicious food and drink, entertaining, décor and everything in between. COMING UP IN JULY
We have some wonderful content in the works for this month: a gorgeous ZUCCHINI AND WHITE TRUFFLE OIL SALAD, a tangy STRAWBERRY JAM, a fun CANADA 150 KEEPSAKE project, as well as a bunch of healthy salads, luscious summer cocktails and a BUTTER CHICKEN BURGER you won’t believe.
For those of you who answered our BUTTER TART survey, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten. Our story is morphing into a full feature. We’ve uncovered so much information about the history of this signature Canadian sweet, we’re working hard to make it just right. It has to be – BUTTER TARTS are important!

Our Canada 150 celebration continues with a really impressive recipe from our friends at SANTAGUIDA FINE FOODS in Toronto. They’re going to share their take on a GRILLED PEACH DESSERT. Having already tried it, I can tell you it’s like no other.
Make sure you check the website on JULY 15 when we’ll be posting details about our amazing SUMMER CONTEST. We don’t want to wreck the surprise, but I can guarantee everyone’s going to want to get in on this one. Our prize is going to make one lucky winner the “toast” of the town!
