Happy holidays, dear friends!

We’re so happy to give a huge Weekend at the Cottage-style welcome to our new subscribers – glad you’re here!

We know you’re busy, so let’s get right to the updates and announcements.

We launched our 4-part HOLIDAY COOKIE SERIES at the end of November and love that you share our excitement about festive treats. This year’s cookie recipes are treasured family favourites, compliments of my four sisters.

My sister Maria’s “NO NAME” COOKIES are so delicious they inspired our December giveaway; one lucky “cookie-namer” will receive an amazing collection of autographed cookbooks by seven of the biggest culinary experts in Canada: Elizabeth Baird, Ned Bell, Giselle Courteau, Chuck Hughes, Anna Olson, Emily Richards and Julie Van Rosendaal. Click HERE for the full story and details on the three ways to enter. Good luck everyone!

Join us for our next Facebook LIVE on Tuesday, January 9 at noon EST. We’ll update you on all of the amazing stuff happening at WATC, and (drum roll, please) announce the winner of the “NAME THE COOKIE” CONTEST. Mark it on your calendars and tune in to see if you’ve won!

Here are links to last month’s most popular posts: SIRLOIN TIP ROAST, PINECONE CHEESE BALL and the inspired look of our entertaining HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE. Don’t forget to raise a glass of good cheer and say, “Hey girl”  to our very popular SMOKIN’ RYE N’ GOSLING cocktail too!

Our December posts are sure to give you even more reasons to celebrate – our homage to traditional French Canadian cuisine with TOURTIÈRE, our classic easier-than-it looks SALMON KULEBIAKA, a CELEBRATION SALAD, and let us show you the best way to ROAST GOOSE. Last, but certainly not least, my beloved cousin Linda’s retro TWELVE LAYER JELL-O SALAD! I’m sure every family has a story or two about Jell-O… something?

Have room for a few more sweets this season? Click HERE to find out about our first collaboration with ten of our fellow YouTube channels. We participated in a HOLIDAY COOKIE COLLABORATION and each channel has created a delicious recipe that you simply must try – they’re all super-tasty!

As always, we’d love to hear from you. Post a comment or send a message directly and also look for us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

Ralph Waldo Emerson may have said it best: “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” It is with this spirit of optimism – finding joy, happiness and purpose each and every day – that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship. We look forward to continuing this joyous journey with you, and wish you and your families a very happy New Year and days filled with good food, good friends and good times!

Joy! Peace! Love!

Nik and Carol
