So many things make this TROPICAL FRUIT SALAD so wonderful.

One of the things I enjoy most about life in cottage country is having family and friends up for the weekend. I’ve come up with a few solid ideas that make the entire experience more enjoyable for everyone, including me. One of the most helpful is to provide something to eat for the early risers.

One thing I always have at the ready is a big container of GLUTEN-FREE GRANOLA that guests can enjoy with yoghurt, milk or fruit juices. I also like to have a bowl of fresh fruit salad at the ready whether it’s our HEALTHY FRUIT SALAD, a CITRUS AMBROSIA, or this TROPICAL FRUIT SALAD.

Here’s how to make it:

We love the combination of pineapple, papaya, mango and pomegranate in this salad. Speak with your produce or fruit purveyor and ask them to guide you to pieces of fruit that are fully ripened; this is essential to the desired flavour profile.

A flavour enhancer of orange juice, honey and rosewater

Adding a flavour enhancer – in this case a liquid mixture – boosts the taste of the fresh fruit. The enhancer for this salad includes honey for a subtle sweetness. Feel free to adjust the amount of honey to your salad to your personal taste.

We included rosewater in the flavour enhancer as a way of coaxing the sweetness from the fruit. This heady-fragranced ingredient is unique and especially memorable in the salad. I’m hoping your favourite grocery store carries this ingredient in their ethnic or specialty food section.

Off the top I mentioned how fruit salads are a nice thing to have for early riser. Know what isn’t? Having the ingredients for our SPINACH BLUEBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE or our APPLE BANANA CARROT one ready to go. Imagine someone zipping up the blender at 6:30 a.m.? LOL!

Prepare this TROPICAL FRUIT SALAD and send your taste buds on a tropical holiday!
