Made with freshly squeezed juice from organic fruit and vegetables, this DETOX JUICE will both cleanse your body and boost your energy.

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2016 is to increase my intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, so I thought I’d share this recipe for a delicious DETOX JUICE. It contains an assortment of organic fresh fruits and vegetables that offer up a powerhouse of healthy vitamins and minerals.

The ingredients for this DETOX JUICE are bursting with goodness:

CELERY – cleanses the digestive system of uric acid. It also has a high potassium content and its diuretic properties help remove toxins from the body.

KALE – full of calcium, iron, vitamin A and folate, and it’s one of the most nutrient-dense plants in the world.

CUCUMBER – contains numerous antioxidants including vitamin C and beta carotene. They also freshen your breath and reputedly can improve memory.

MINT – helps refresh your breath, but also aids digestion, reduces the symptoms of nausea and is claimed to help ease depression.

GINGER – this wonder root helps with digestion, boosts the immune system, acts as an anti-inflammatory and is loaded with calcium, potassium and magnesium.

PEAR – high in potassium and vitamin C, pears also supply a good dose of vitamin K. They calm an upset stomach and are an excellent source of fiber.

LIME – citrus adds zing to any juice, and like lemons or oranges, limes contain carotenoids, bioflavonoids and, of course, vitamin C.

To prepare this recipe you’ll need a juicer or a blender. There is a variety of juicers on the market – find one that fits your budget and potential use. If juicing is new to you and you’re not sure whether you’ll do it often, just use a blender, adding some water to coax the fresh ingredients into macerating properly.

Two final suggestions – use organically grown ingredients whenever possible and drink your juice within an hour to enjoy all the healthy benefits of those just-released enzymes.

A blend of healthy ingredients make this DETOX JUICE a surefire way to start your next healthy day.

Ingredients & Amounts

  • 1 English cucumber, cut lengthways in 4
  • 1 bunch kale
  • 3 celery ribs, cut in half
  • 1 2-inch section of ginger
  • 1 D'Anjou pear
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 bunch fresh mint

Instructions

  1. Wash and towel dry all ingredients.
  2. Slowly add ingredients into juicer, reserving juice in container.
  3. If preferred, pour juice through strainer to remove pulp, or stir and drink as is.
